AUGGHHH!
Unreal Monsters!
From Mill & Mountain - September

Productions; Jennerstown PA
The Jenner Gallery wraps up the 2001
exhibit schedule with the whimsical papiér maché creatures
of Indiana PA artist, Gene Fenton. Fenton's use of the medium
is distinctive.
"When I work in papiér maché, I treat it like clay," he
says. "I like to use several layers of thick papiér maché that
make the material easier to mold with my hands."
Fenton says he is influenced by black and white
film monsters and dinosaurs. "These
old cinematic images are less than 'accurate,'" he explains, "but
they are dramatic and expressive."
We'll
have a chance to enjoy Gene Fenton's works during the run of Always
... Patsy Cline, October 3-14 at the Mountain Playhouse. Previous Page |
